La Casa del Tesöl
The apartment is located on the second floor of a large family house. The entrance door opens directly onto the pavement, with no stairs leading to it; the approach is sloped. Above and below it live two original families. The apartment is fully equipped. Inside, you will find a simple 'Nonna-chic' classic Italian style with a beautiful fireplace. The house stands on an impressive hill and can only be accessed by car or by foot. There is limited public transportation (buses) that go to Gargnano (no train), so we strongly recommend renting a car at the airport if you fly to Italy.

We are Gabriele and Vit, an Italian-Czech couple in between the four countries of Italy, Czechia, Germany, and Iceland. Casa del Tesöl is originally Gabriele's grandma's flat, where Gabriele and his family grew up with fond memories of Nonna and her famous Passatelli.

Transportation
By boat
The best mode of transport to visit the lake and the surrounding villages is undoubtedly by boat. You can buy tickets here. On some ferries, you can board with your car and save yourself a trip if you want to visit the eastern side of the lake.
By car
Gardesana is the main road that goes around the entire Lake Garda. However, especially in the summer, traffic can sometimes collapse here, so we recommend traveling by boat whenever possible. Nevertheless, a car is almost essential to reach Casa del Tesöl.
By bike/motorbike
Riding a motorcycle can help you avoid the worst traffic jams. It is not ideal to cycle directly on the Gardesana, but in the surrounding areas and villages, it is one way to experience Lake Garda from a different perspective.
By bus
For shorter distances, it is also possible to take the bus. Schedules are available here. In general, it is important to consider that transportation around Lake Garda can be very slow. For longer distances, we therefore recommend other means of transport.

Is Casa del Tesöl an entire apartment or a room in a shared house?
Casa del Tesöl is an entire self-catering holiday apartment in Gargnano on Lake Garda. You have the apartment to yourselves, including its kitchen and bathrooms. It occupies the second floor of a family house, with other households living above and below. It is hosted by Gabriele and Vit and was originally Gabriele’s grandmother’s home. The entrance door opens directly onto the pavement, with no stairs leading to it; the approach is sloped.
How many guests can stay, and how many bedrooms and bathrooms are there?
The apartment accommodates up to four guests in two bedrooms, with one double bed and two single beds. There are two bathrooms, with one shower in total. You also have a living and dining area and a kitchen, making it a practical base for couples, friends or a family travelling together.
Where is Casa del Tesöl, and can I walk to the centre of Gargnano?
Casa del Tesöl is at Via delle Limonaie 23, 25084 Gargnano, on the western shore of Lake Garda in Italy. Gargnano’s centre is approximately 600 metres away. You can walk to the village, but the house is on a steep hill and the return walk is uphill. Consider the climb when planning meals out and trips to the lake.
Do I need a car, and is parking available?
A car is strongly recommended for reaching Casa del Tesöl, and parking is available at the property. The approach is steep, and Gargnano has limited bus connections and no railway station. Once you are in the village, boats are a useful way to explore Lake Garda; check current routes and timetables before travelling.
Does the apartment have lake views and outdoor space?
Yes. Casa del Tesöl has views of Lake Garda, Monte Baldo and the village of Gargnano. Guests also have a private garden and outdoor seating space to relax in. The house’s hillside position provides the elevated views, while the village and lake are reached via a steep route.
What facilities and essentials are included in the stay?
The apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, parking and outdoor space. Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning are included in the advertised apartment price. The local tourist tax is paid separately on site. Ask for the total cost for your dates when requesting availability.
Can I bring a dog or another pet to Casa del Tesöl?
Small pets are welcome at Casa del Tesöl. Please tell us about your pet when you send your booking request so we can confirm the arrangements. Guests must clean up after their animals and prevent damage or disturbance. If you are travelling with a larger pet, ask us before booking.
Are there stairs to the apartment, and what is the access like?
Although the apartment is on the second floor, its entrance door opens directly onto the pavement, with no stairs leading to it. The approach is sloped and may be challenging for some guests with mobility needs. Please contact us before booking to discuss your access requirements. Children under 10 need close adult supervision. Please discuss any concerns about young children with us before booking.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00, and check-out is by 10:00. We send information about collecting and returning the keys by email or message no later than the day before arrival. Let us know your expected arrival time, and contact us if your journey is delayed so we can coordinate your arrival.
